Joel Leonard, CPA-CA
FOUNDER
Joel Leonard is the founder of Leonard & Co. and a seasoned accounting professional with over 15 years of experience in the industry. He received his CPA designation in 2014. In 2016, Joel established Leonard & Co., bringing his extensive expertise and vision to create a firm that provides tailored accounting solutions to meet the unique needs and goals of each client.
Joel has extensive experience working with small businesses, having partnered with hundreds of companies throughout his career. His expertise spans all aspects of small business operations, from startups to business sales. Joel is dedicated to providing personalized accounting solutions that support the unique needs and growth objectives of each business.
In addition to his work with small businesses, Joel has significant experience within large market cap companies listed on the TSX and NYSE. This background has provided him with a deep understanding of complex financial environments, enabling him to serve as a fractional CFO across various industries, including mining, healthcare, and life sciences. Joel’s comprehensive approach ensures that his clients receive top-notch financial guidance and support.
Outside of his professional life, Joel enjoys spending time with his family, playing hockey, and golfing.
Patrick McCarthy, CPA-CA
CONTROLLER
Patrick is a Manager at Leonard & Co. and the Controller for various publicly listed entities. With extensive experience in financial accounting, Patrick provides expert advisory and controllership services to public and private sector clients.
Patrick became a Chartered Accountant in Ireland in 2021 and has been a member of CPA BC since 2022. Before joining Leonard & Co., he gained valuable experience in various accounting functions at a public company listed on the NYSE. He joined Leonard & Co. in 2022 as a Senior Accountant and was promoted to Manager in 2024, taking on additional responsibilities as Controller for multiple listed companies. In these roles, Patrick oversees financial reporting, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance, ensuring the highest standards of financial management. Patrick is skilled in financial reporting, financial management, strategic financial support, and the design and implementation of internal controls.
Patrick graduated from University College Cork in 2017 with a Bachelor of Commerce. Outside of work, he enjoys watching sports, running, cycling, and traveling. He is passionate about improving financial controls, processes, and systems, and loves working on initiatives that drive efficiency and effectiveness in financial management.
Harpreet Singh, CPA
MANAGER
Harpreet is a Manager at Leonard & Co. and is an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Professional Accountant (CPA) with over 3 years of expertise in financial reporting, tax preparation, and strategic accounting solutions. Before joining Leonard & Co., he has worked with clients across industries such as Automobile/RV dealerships, First Nations and Indigenous Businesses, Construction, Investments along with Non-profit organizations and Professionals. With a solid foundation in corporate and personal accounting, Harpreet provides comprehensive services to help businesses and individuals navigate complex financial landscapes.
He is proficient in bookkeeping, compilations, reviews, audit, and tax planning, always ensuring compliance with the latest regulations while optimizing financial outcomes. Harpreet is committed to delivering precise, transparent, and tailored financial advice to clients, empowering them to make informed financial decisions.
Harpreet is a proud alumni of University of the Fraser Valley and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. Outside of work, he enjoys nature walks, board games, movies and pickleball.
Natalia Fil, CPA-CA
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Natalia joined Leonard & Co. in 2018 after gaining valuable experience at a Big Four accounting firm. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics and has obtained her Chartered Professional Accountant designation. Her primary focus is on small and medium-sized corporate taxation, where she applies her expertise to help clients navigate complex tax landscapes and optimize their financial strategies.
Natalia is dedicated to providing personalized services that assist clients in achieving both their business and personal goals. Her commitment to understanding each client's unique needs ensures tailored solutions that drive success and growth.
Outside of her professional life, Natalia enjoys spending quality time with her family. She loves to travel and explore new destinations, and she is an avid tennis player and skier, frequently enjoying the slopes of British Columbia's mountains.

Adarsh Garg
SENIOR ACCOUNTANT
Adarsh is a Senior Accountant with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). He began working with Leonard & Co. on August 1, 2024, after gaining experience at various small to medium-sized public practice firms focusing on private entities. Adarsh enjoys working with small to medium-sized businesses, performing compilation engagements and corporate taxation work. He is currently completing the final steps toward his CPA designation.
In his spare time, Adarsh enjoys spending time with friends and family, practicing yoga, and exploring new places.
Jillian Mullins
ACCOUNTING TECHNICIAN
Jillian is an Accounting Technician and Bookkeeper at Leonard & Co. and has been an integral part of the team since 2019. She is passionate about working with business owners to ensure compliance and accurate financial reporting. Jillian's meticulous attention to detail and dedication to her clients make her an invaluable asset to the firm.
Outside of work, Jillian loves spending time outdoors. She enjoys hiking, running, and camping, embracing the beauty of nature and staying active.
